The EID Welcome Day is an annual graduate student-led event organized in coordination with the Graduate Student Resource Center. Since 2011, the EID Day Coordinating Committee composed of volunteer graduate students from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Professional Schools, and STEM organize panel discussions, workshops, and networking events that focus on issues that are particularly challenging to new graduate students from underrepresented communities.
The goal of the EID Welcome Day is to help new graduate students become acquainted with the university in a supportive environment, make personal and professional connections, learn about campus resources, and promote an inclusive campus climate, personal wellbeing, and academic success.
EID Welcome Day is for ALL new graduate students. Registration is free. Lunch and a closing reception with snacks and beverages will be provided for all registered attendees. Event registration information is emailed to incoming graduate students in August.
