Orientation Volunteers

Volunteer for GSO 2009

On Friday, September 18, 2009, the Graduate Students Association (GSA) and the Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC) will be hosting UCLA's annual New Graduate Student Orientation. And we're looking for *CURRENT* graduate students to help make this event a success!

As many of you may remember from your own experience as first-year graduate students, the New Graduate Student Orientation is an opportunity to welcome (1000+!) new graduate students to UCLA with a full day of workshops and panels, as well as an ASUCLA-sponsored lunch, a choice of campus tours, a resource fair including campus offices and student groups, and an introduction to the GSA GradBar!

We're asking for current graduate students to participate as members of the 16-person team of lead organizers, volunteers throughout event day, and volunteers during the week of the event (putting together registration packets and other Orientation materials). In terms of roles, we'll be asking people to serve on panels, to lead campus tours, and to serve as general volunteers for the day.

In return for your efforts, you will get a free ‘STAFF’ t-shirt, a GSA button, and a free lunch (for those of you helping out on event day). There will also be a training event on Monday, September 14th (with a free dinner for all volunteers).

If you would like to help out, please email us as soon as possible (by Friday, September 11) at orientation@gsa.asucla.ucla.edu with a completed interest form.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at orientation@gsa.asucla.ucla.edu.

We look forward to working with all of you!
