Elyse Gueidon (she/her)
InterGrad Dialogue Program Coordinator and Graduate Student Orientation Coordinator
Program: Ph.D. Program, Dept. of European Languages and Transcultural Studies
Elyse is a Ph.D. Candidate in French & Francophone Studies, and her dissertation examines depictions of disabled characters in nineteenth-century French women-authored novels. Elyse previously served on the Graduate Orientation Planning Committee in 2018, 2019, and in 2021 and in 2022 served as a Coordinator for the Graduate Student Orientation. During AY 2021-2022, she also created and ran the inaugural series of the InterGrad Dialogue, Conversations in Spirituality. Elyse has also coordinated and developed programming offered through the UCLA Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Graduate Student Association, and Alumni Association.
This year, Elyse will be supporting all InterGrad Dialogue programming as well as running the second year of the Conversations in Spirituality Series.
Fun fact: My favorite free-time activities are drinking tea and doing blogilates.
Advice for graduate students: Don’t be afraid to change your plan. You will grow and evolve a lot during graduate school and that may cause your priorities and goals to shift. Embrace it!
